This is a great opportunity to tackle those classic Scottish winter mountaineering routes you’ve aspired to climb. We can tailor the level of challenge around you, whether you are looking to get into winter climbing for the first time, or wanting to try some routes that you may not currently be confident to lead.
Guided Winter Climbing in Scotland
Choose from 1 day to 4 consecutive days.
After meeting at our base in Newtonmore or Aviemore, we will head to the chosen location for the day. We aim to use venues in the Northern Cairngorms, but we may venture to Creag Meagaidh or Nevis Range depending on the snow and ice conditions and weather forecast.

- Waterproof jacket & trousers
- Winter boots B2 or B3 (we have B2 boots for you if required)
- Hat & gloves (we recommend 2x gloves)
- Belay jacket
- Rucksack
- Lunch & hot & cold drinks
- Gaiters
- Headtorch
- Clear lensed Goggles
Should you prefer to use your own equipment on this Guided Scottish winter climbing course, you are welcome to bring your own harness, helmet, belay device, boots, crampons & axes if you they are relatively new and in very good condition, your instructor will check these on the day to ensure they appropriate.
