Ski Lessons in Aviemore & the Cairngorms – Learn or improve your skiing with Active’s ski school; Active offers beginner, intermediate & advanced ski & snowsports lessons from the Lecht, Cairngorm mountain & across the other ski centres in Scotland.

We will select the ski centre with the best conditions and weather as well as the most suitable runs to match our clients ability. 

 We also offer other snowsports in Aviemore and ski lessons in ski centres across Scotland allowing you to learn to ski in the most suitable location.

Private instructor rates start from £275.00 on a 1:1 ratio. Additional adults £115 - Children £89.

Skier Type Guide

The easy to use chart at the bottom will help you to work out your Skier type/level. The skier type guide helps us to ensure we set up your equipment correctly and safely for your ski lesson. If you never or have very little ski / board experience you will be a type 1.

Type 1 Skier

Skis cautiously and prefer skiing at slower speeds. Happy on easy or moderate, Green or Blue slopes. Novice/cautious skiing at lighter release/retention settings. Entry level skiers uncertain of their classification. Beginner ski lesson.

Type 2 Skier

Skiing more confidently at faster speeds. Preferring mixed terrain and steeper gradients, typically Blue or Red slopes. Average/moderate skiing at average release/retention settings. Intermediate ski lesson.

Type 3 Skier

Aggressive, higher speed skiing on all runs, in all conditions and venturing off piste. Skiers who designate themselves type 3 must accept higher binding release/retention settings. Advanced ski lesson.
