Ski Touring & Mountaineering
Ski touring is the most satisfying and efficient way of exploring and travelling through the mountains and for gaining access to climbs.
Our Ski Mountaineering Courses will equip you with the skills necessary for touring safely in the Scottish mountains as well as most of the essential skills for touring in Nordic or Alpine regions.
Our ski touring days are based from Active Aviemore and our 2 & 5 day courses from Craigower Lodge. We will ski mainly in the Cairngorms which are Scotland’s finest ski touring Mountains but should conditions be favourable, we may also visit Creag Meagaidh or the Monadhliath mountains.
During the 5 day course there may be scope for an overnight expedition.

Ski Mountaineering Weekend Courses
Our weekend courses are available every weekend from Christmas to April. Courses are suitable for those with some hill walking and skiing experience. You should be fit for long days on the hill and be able to ski blue / red runs on piste in good control. This course will cover the basics of ski touring, equipping you with the confidence and ability to carry out basic level tours. This course is ideal preparation for our 5 day course.
