Ski Lessons in Aviemore & The Cairngorms

Learn or improve your skiing with Active’s ski & snowboard school; Active offers ski & snowsports lessons in Aviemore at Cairngorm mountain, the Lecht & across the other ski centres in Scotland. We will select the ski centre with the best conditions and weather as well as the most suitable runs to match our clients ability. We are the only company offering this individualised level of service.

Your ski lesson includes transport to any of these areas from our meeting points in Aviemore and our main ski school base the Cairngorms Adventure Centre in Newtonmore. Saving you money and allowing you to relax as we drive you to the slopes. No other ski school around Aviemore offers this service. We also offer other snowsports in Aviemore and Ski lessons in ski centres across Scotland allowing you to learn to ski in the most suitable location.

Skier Type Guide

The easy to use chart at the bottom will help you to work out your Skier type/level. The skier type guide helps us to ensure we set up your equipment correctly and safely for your ski lesson. If you never or have very little ski / board experience you will be a type 1.

*Please note if you are a season pass holder for The Lecht or Cairngorm mountain, your ski lesson package price minus the pass is £75, please contact us before booking.  On the day conditions will determine which Ski resort in Scotland we will visit for the lesson.

Skier Type 1Skier Type 2Skier Type 3
Skis cautiously and prefer skiing at slower speeds. Happy on easy or moderate, Green or Blue slopes.Novice/cautious skiing at lighter release/retention settings. Entry level skiers uncertain of their classification. Beginner ski lesson.Skiing more confidently at faster speeds. Preferring mixed terrain and steeper gradients, typically Blue or Red slopes.. Average/moderate skiing at average release/retention settings. Intermediate ski lesson.Aggressive, higher speed skiing on all runs, in all conditions and venturing off piste. Skiers who designate themselves type 3 must accept higher binding release/retention settings. Advanced ski lesson.
