The Cairngorms 4000ers is one of Scotland’s classic hillwalking challenges. This incredible loop takes in the five peaks of the Cairngorms Mountain range that hit 4000ft, taking in Ben MacDui, Devils Point, Cairn Toul, Angel’s Peak and Braeriach. Day one sees you to the top of Cairn Gorm and Ben MacDui, before heading down into the Lairig Ghru, where you can set up camp under the stars. You can even brave a dip in the Dee to freshen up! Day two will send you back up to the summits to traverse a stunning ridge. Your efforts will be rewarded with jaw-dropping views and the remaining four peaks of the challenge.
This is a challenging mountain expedition suitable for people with previous hillwalking experience and a good level of fitness. We will do the guiding for you so no navigational skills are necessary. The total route length across the two days is approx. 35km, with around 2,400 metres of ascent. The duration of the hill walks will vary greatly depending on the group and the conditions, we will usually be walking for 6 to 10 hours per day.
*Routes can become more challenging in windy conditions. In some conditions, we may re-route to ensure the safety and well-being of the group.
