We stock outdoor equipment & clothing from top brands like Salewa, Mammut, Montane, Deuter, Smartwool, DMM, Black Diamond, 5:10 and many more. We have canoe & kayaking equipment - paddles from Artistic, O’Neil, Grey Owl, Peak UK, Bending Branches etc. We also stock a range of ski mountaineering equipment for sale & rental and we have a wide range of outdoor books, maps and guides in our extensive outdoor book shop. We are also currently developing our on-line shopping facility which will be live by Summer 2012

You can book over the counter any of our activity days, courses or holidays. We offer an exciting and comprehensive range of activities to suit everyone including - white water rafting, canyoning, duckies, kayaking, gorge scrambling, rock climbing, abseiling and hill-walking. From Active Aviemore we also provide equipment hire including a range of mountain bikes, canoes, kayaks, skis and snow boards. Out of season ex-rental equipment will be for sale at great prices.

In winter the Active ski school and snowboard school offer lessons and rental packages including ski hire, instruction and lift passes as well as transport to Cairngorm Mountain. In addition we offer ski mountaineering courses and equipment rental. 

The shop is staffed by our guides and instructors and graduates of Active’s instructor training courses who will be on hand to offer friendly expert advice regarding booking activities, safety issues, the most suitable equipment, routes, weather forecasts etc...there is an extensive selection of outdoor equipment with some great exclusive brands to Scotland.

Other great offers from Active include a discount scheme, to outdoor instructors & guides living or working in the area on equipment and food in the Active Cafaidh upstairs.  Active also offer discount to members of outdoor sports national governing bodies.

Active Cafaidh

Active Cafaidh (Gaelic for Café) is the unique place in Aviemore to meet, eat & relax.

Experience its friendly relaxed atmosphere and outstanding mountain views. Our food is all freshly prepared using the finest quality Scottish produce. Menu options include delicious savory crepes, spicy lamb burgers and hearty mountain platters. Fresh soups prepared daily as well as superb coffee and home baking. We always have selections for people with special diets. Take time to browse our bookshop and Scottish music collection. The cafaidh has free Wi-Fi and 2 public access computers. We are available for private functions and are fully licensed offering a range of drinks including local beers, whisky cocktails & wines.
