The Sea kayak Leader Training (formerly the four star sea kayak leader) joined with Coastal & Tidal Navigation Planning Course is run over a period of three days from our Base in the Cairngorms Nation Park. From here we can easily travel to whatever section of coast looks most appropriate on the day.
Before booking on to the course please ensure you meet the pre-requisites and your BCU or SCA membership is valid. If you are unsure of your current paddling ability, or have not been in a boat for some time then we can offer a private days coaching the day before the course to ensure you are current and ready for the training.
The cost of the course includes:
- The technical training
- Transport to and from the venues
- The use of a kayak (if required) although if you have your own you may prefer to use your own boat.
It does not include
- You will require all your own personal paddling & safety equipment.
- Personal registration or certification fees.
The Sea Kayak Leader course content covers the following: the Coastal Navigation Course is Only Theory.
- Part A – Personal Paddling Skills
- Part B – Rescue Skills
- Part C – Safety, Leadership & Group Skills
- Part D – Theory
The cost of the Sea kayak Leader Training joined with Coastal & Tidal Navigation Planning Course does not include accommodation, but there is the option to add 2 nights accommodation at Cairngorms Adventure Centre if required.
