White Water Kayak Award

From: £75.00

The White Water Awards are aimed at paddlers looking to develop their skills for a safe day out on rivers.

White Water Kayak Award

White Water Kayak Award Assessment looks at your personal paddling ability in water up to and including grade two terrain. It also looks at your judgement, decision making and river reading on the river. You should be able to paddle this grade of water in full control of your boat and be confident.

The award is a brilliant foothold in the schemes before then progressing further on to the leader awards which not only look at personal but also leadership ability on moving water. There are no prerequisites or age limits for this award so you can get started whenever you are ready.

If you are close or at the standard of the White Water Kayak Award already, then our instructors may well do training on the day to get you to the required standard or above it so that they can sign you off and continue your development and learning beyond. It is likely that we will do a small river descent (i.e. a section of the Spey) to look at controlling the boat in moving water and sound personal judgement and skills on route. For the day we would normally meet at 09:00 and aim to finish up sometime around 16:00 but we need to ensure all aspects of the syllabus are covered so it might be a little later if needed.

For the cost of the White Water Kayak Award, we include:

  • The use of equipment and a boat if required – you are welcome to bring your own if you prefer.
  • Transport
  • Training & assessment by fully qualified instructors

We do not Include:

  • Accommodation
  • Personal certification or registration fees.
