D of E Award

Active Outdoor Pursuits has many years experience and a proven track record of facilitating The Duke of Edinburgh's Award Expedition Section. We currently train, supervise and assess around 200 young people each year for each level of the Award.

We provide the training, supervision & assessment in the expedition section of the Award Scheme as well as training in the Skills & physical sections in the following activities.

  • Canadian Canoe
  • Walking
  • Sea Kayaking
  • Mountain Bike

DoE Expedition Training & Assessment

A Duke of Edinburgh's Award is so much more than a 'pat on the back' for completing a programme of activities. It is recognition of a young person’s successful journey of self-discovery and development, renowned by employers and universities alike for the qualities young people have who've achieved a DofE Award. DoE Gold Residential

To achieve your Gold Award, you need to complete an extra section - the Residential.

This involves spending 5 days and 4 nights away from home on a shared activity with people you’ve never met before. Active can provide this residential experience at it's Craigower Lodge Outdoor Centre in Newtonmore.
