The Expedition section involves planning, training for and doing a 4 day (3 nights) expedition.

At Gold you'll also do a Residential section – We offer these weeks at Craigower Lodge. Staying away from home for five days and four nights doing a shared activity with people you don't know. It's great fun and a real chance to do something different!

Training & Practice Journey

This 4 day course includes a day of training and practice in your chosen mode of transport which can be on foot, Bike, Canoe or Sea Kayak. We will then spend 2 nights and 3 days on the practice journey / expedition. An element of training will be included during the practice- if required to ensure you are fully prepared for your qualifying expedition.

Qualifying Expedition

The 4 day & 3 night qualifying expedition will be carried out in the same mode of transport as your training. Full supervision and assessing will be given throughout the journey and a final report given in accordance with D of E guidelines

Training, Practice & Qualifying Module

This combined Training, Practice and Qualifying course totals 9 days and 9 nights. 4 nights will be based at Craigower Lodge Outdoor Centre with self catering facilities provided. 5 nights will be spent camping, where food and all camping equipment can be provided.
