Bronze Open Expedition Programme

A Bronze DofE programme has 4 sections, Volunteering, Physical, Skills and Expedition. You need be at least 14 years old to start a Bronze programme and you must do a minimum of 3 months activity for each of the Volunteering, Physical and Skills sections, and plan, train for and do a 2 day (1 night) Expedition as outlined below.

Training and Practice Journey

This 4 day course includes 2 days of training and practice in your chosen mode of transport which can be on foot, Bike, Canoe or Sea Kayak. We will then spend 2 nights and 2 days on the practice journey / expedition. An element of training will be included during the practice- if required to ensure you are fully prepared for your qualifying expedition.

Qualifying Expedition

The 2 day & 1 night qualifying expedition will be carried out in the same mode of transport as your training. Full supervision and assessing will be given throughout the journey and a final report given in accordance with D of E guidelines.

Training, Practice & Qualifying Module

This combined Training / practice and qualifying course totals 7 days' and 7 nights. 4 nights will be based at Craigower Lodge Outdoor Centre with self catering facilities provided. 3 nights will be spent camping where food and all camping equipment can be provided.
