Mini Rafting

Mini Rafts are scaled down White Water rafts seating two to five people. Because of the size of these rafts you are much closer to the water waves and stoppers feel much bigger and the whole experience is more like being in the water rather than on the water. Mini rafting makes easier grade rivers feel much more challenging.

Mini rafting with Active is available throughout Scotland. Our most popular rivers are the Aviemore rafting trips on the River Findhorn & River Spey in the Cairngorms National Park. In Perthshire we have rafting on the River Tay and in South West Scotland we raft the River Doon & River Nith.

Mini Rafting is great fun for everyone; families and young people can enjoy the bounce and splash offered on grade 2 river trips while adult groups such as stag and hen parties may opt for the exhilarating experience offered on Grade 3 or 4 waters found when rafting the river Findhorn or the River Nith. No previous experience is required.

Active offer mini rafting in Scotland all year round although river conditions can vary with the seasons. The conditions are generally pleasant in Summer with higher water levels normally experienced more in Spring & Autumn.

Why not make a weekend of it and try one of our multi-activity breaks for youth groups, families groups or Stag and Hen parties. This is a great way to try a variety of adventurous activities.

Weekends & activity holidays are normally based at Craigower Lodge in Newtonmore or at one of our partner hotels or hostels in the Cairngorms National Park or elsewhere in Scotland. We can even come to you if you have a large group and are not based nearby.
